1. Extruder Base: The base us fabricated out of mild steel plates, Channels, The Top of the base is machined to mount hopper block and barrel support bracket. The AC induction motor and Helical Gearbox are accommodated on the base 2. Screw & Barrel: The screw and barrel are made from special alloy steel. Barrel and screw are nitride hardened, fine polished and chrome plated. The function of the screw is to carry the material from hopper to die with homogeneous melt. For precise control of temperature, the barrel is divided in to equivalent zones. Thermocouples fitted on the barrel and Pyrometers on control panel are for monitoring and controlling of the temperatures in each zone. Die zone is mounted on die head for precise control of temperature of die head. Water-cooling jacket is provided in hopper block. Water circulation in the jacket is necessary, for the safety of thrust bearings. 3. In built Thrust housing helical gear box: It is constructed robustly from cast iron to hold the barrel horizontal. Barrel is fitted with heavy flange with high-tension bolt. It is having six bearings. One additional bearing is to withstand thrust pressure during extrusion. Seals are provided for restricting the entry of raw material in the gear box bearing housing. All Bearings are standard Make. 4. Main Drive: Ac motor with heavy-duty gearbox connected through V belt and sturdy coupling. 5. Control Panel: Construction of panel is in M.S. crc sheet. Panel is powder coated. All switchgears are of standard make voltmeter with voltage selector switch for incoming voltage.
